I'd like them to have some sort of bedding, so I was considering aquarium sand. I read that this can cause sea monkeys to get trapped, suffocate, and die (this also is why I'm questioning the accessories). I also would like to know if they require sunlight, as I typically keep my curtains closed (though I know to keep them out of direct sunlight).Ħ. What type of light fixture should I get? I have a couple saved on Amazon and I was basically wondering if they would do better with a grow light or if a regular aquarium light would be sufficient. Is this a bad idea? If not, are there any specific species I should look into?ĥ. I want to add plants, though I've read that due to the salinity most die and I saw a recommendation for macro algae. I've read that aeration may be unnecessary and possibly harmful. Are the accessories I'm planning on getting for my sea monkeys okay/safe for them?ģ. Is there any issue with that? Do I need to rinse out the tank beforehand?Ģ. Did I already screw things up with the water? Additionally, I'm planning to transfer the water from the mason jar into the tank once it arrives and THEN add the sea monkey eggs. ![]() That's all I've done so far, but please let me know if I need to repeat this step!ġ. Then today, I measured out 12 oz into a clean mason jar, sprinkled in the water purifier, and have stirred it around throughout the day with the plastic spoon included in the kit. So firstly, I boiled water from the tap, kept it at a boil for around 15 minutes, set it aside, and allowed it to cool overnight. I've already begun the process, although sloppily, just due to impatience caused by my excitement. I'm planning on purchasing some driftwood pieces and a small rock with hidey holes to jazz things up, and I'm also looking into purchasing some macro algae as well as a couple other accessories. I've also ordered a 6.5x7x7 2.5 liter tank to house them in, a digital water thermometer, and a small pack of 3ML pipettes in order to manually aerate the water.
